TRADEA, one of the companies of the UNIMOT Capital Group, has become a member of the Nasdaq stock exchange, which was one of its strategic goals. This will allow the company to trade electricity on the Scandinavian market, which is intended to be commenced in Q2 2020.

Nasdaq is a stock exchange with its main office in the United States and branches all over the world, which provides an opportunity to trade commodities, including electricity and natural gas, which is conducted under the brand of Nasdaq Commodities.

TRADEA has been accepted to Nasdaq Commodities as so-called Non-Clearing Member, that is a unit that participates in trading through a clearing institution, in case of the company Raiffeisen Bank in the Czech Republic. There are about 250 members of Nasdaq Commodities in Europe, coming from over 20 countries. They include producers, distributors, sellers and large consumers of electricity, as well as banks, stock broking companies, funds and financial institutions.

The tradition of the Nasdaq is to announce publicly that it has acquired a new member. This occurs through a presentation of its big logotype on a large LED display situated in Times Square in New York. This time the honoured company was TRADEA.

We are present in all the areas of electricity trading both in Poland as well as in the territory of Ukraine, where we have our subsidiary. One of the strategic development goals for us is to enter the electricity market in Scandinavia and the membership in Nasdaq Commodities will help us achieve this goal – claims Mr Krzysztof Bonk, President of the Management Board of TRADEA.

TRADEA has been a part of the UNIMOT Group since 2016. Its main activity includes wholesale of electricity. In 2019 the Company’s turnover exceeded 2TWh of electricity and this volume grows each year. The trading is conducted through the Polish Power Exchange, brokerage platforms and OTC channels. TRADEA also specialises in purchases of electricity directly from the producers of energy from renewable energy sources.
