UNIMOT supplies HVO100 biofuel to Rohlig SUUS Logistics for road transport

15.05.2025

Unimot, an independent multi-energy group, has established a partnership with Rohlig SUUS Logistics, the largest Polish logistics operator, for the supply of HVO100 fuel for road transport. The aim of the partnership is to support SUUS’s decarbonisation strategy and to implement low-emission solutions in the logistics sector. A pilot project confirmed the effectiveness of using HVO100 biofuel, demonstrating a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions.

HVO100 (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) is a second-generation synthetic biofuel produced from vegetable fats and waste. Currently, the level of emission reduction achieved through the use of HVO100 biofuel offered by Unimot averages between 80–90%, depending on the characteristics of a given batch. A pilot project conducted by Rohlig SUUS Logistics on the use of HVO100 biofuel supplied by Unimot confirmed the effectiveness of this solution, showing that it enables a reduction of CO₂ emissions by at least 80% compared to B0 diesel fuel, taking into account the entire product life cycle – from production and transport to combustion.

“As a leader among independent fuel importers in Poland, we are pleased to support SUUS in implementing its decarbonisation strategy. HVO100 is a practical and readily available solution, recommended by leading diesel engine manufacturers, which does not require investment in a new fleet or any modifications to existing vehicles. This cooperation perfectly aligns with our mission to support the energy transition by providing sustainable solutions,” said Przemysław Podgórski, CEO of Unimot Paliwa.

A carrier cooperating with SUUS used HVO100 biofuel, supplied by Unimot, on routes with a total length of 7,300 km, demonstrating a significant reduction in CO₂ emissions. The carrier confirmed that the fuel had no negative impact on engine performance, driving comfort, or fuel consumption compared to traditional diesel.

“At SUUS, we focus on tangible actions that lead to emission reductions across our clients’ supply chains, while maintaining operational efficiency. This is a key element of our ESG strategy. That’s why we’ve introduced the option of using HVO100 biofuel in road transport — a fuel that can fully replace conventional diesel and is compatible with most modern heavy-duty vehicles. Our pilot project confirmed that HVO enables at least an 80% reduction in CO₂ emissions compared to B0 diesel,” said Fabian Szmurło, Domestic FTL Product Director at Rohlig SUUS Logistics.

HVO100 is widely used in countries across Western and Northern Europe. In Poland, the Unimot Group is acting as a pioneer by introducing this product to the domestic market. It was the first company in Poland to enable customers to purchase HVO100 and to offer the possibility of refueling this biofuel at selected AVIA fuel stations. The introduction of HVO100 into Unimot’s multi-energy portfolio is part of the Group’s broader efforts to implement solutions that support the energy transition for both the company and its stakeholders, in line with its 2024–2028 business strategy.
