Unimot Energia i Gaz, a Unimot Group company, has signed two independent agreements with partners: ISO Company and EDS Engineering, to implement projects related to reconstruction of Ukraine's power industry infrastructure destroyed in the war. The cooperation includes, among others, the construction of new generation capacity based on renewable energy sources, combining Unimot's experience and know-how with the partners' technical and operational resources.
Faced with the complex challenges of rebuilding and modernising Ukraine's energy sector, the cooperation between Unimot Energia i Gaz's and ISO Company and EDS Engineering is focused on the preparation and implementation of scalable new capacity projects based on renewable energy sources. In particular, they include solar power plants and energy storage facilities. These solutions can be deployed in a modular fashion, thus reducing startup time and increasing system resilience. Such a model of operation combines Unimot's know-how with the engineering and execution facilities of its partners, which accelerates the implementation of investments and strengthens security of supply.
The cooperation with EDS Engineering has been further expanded to include the development of electric vehicle charging infrastructure in Ukraine and European Union countries, covering both the manufacture, installation of charging stations and construction of electricity grids to support electromobility.
The partnerships entered into provide for the coordination of activities in the areas of investment acquisition, promotional and implementation support for projects, and building the business networks necessary for the effective implementation of undertakings.
With their state-of-the-art technical facilities, ISO Company and EDS Engineering are fully prepared to implement power investments and projects in Ukraine. In turn, Unimot Energia i Gaz will add supplies of top-quality products and years of experience in large-scale projects. The parties agreed that were going to be each other's first-choice partners for joint projects, which will be carried out on the basis of separate orders and commercial agreements.
"The signed memorandums are an important step toward Unimot Group's active participation in rebuilding Ukraine's war-ravaged energy sector. ISO Company and EDS Engineering are distinguished by their experience, technical expertise and operational capabilities, which allow them to carry out large-scale projects in difficult conditions. By combining our know-how with the resources of our new partners, we can effectively contribute to reconstruction of the power industry infrastructure while supporting the long-term transformation and development of Ukraine's electricity system,” said Wojciech Ginter, vice president of the management board of Unimot Energia i Gaz.
According to estimates, the cost of rebuilding Ukraine's energy infrastructure is between $2.35 billion and $2.58 billion. At the same time, in its development plans, Ukraine has envisaged investments of around €200 million per year in 2023-2032 for the modernisation and development of the electrical power system. These figures show the scale of the challenges, but also the investment potential where cooperation between UNIMOT Energia i Gaz and its partners can play an important role in the reconstruction and transformation of Ukraine's energy sector.
ISO Company is a Ukrainian construction company that offers comprehensive renewable energy solutions. EDS Engineering, in turn, is part of the engineering and investment EDS Group that implements large-scale solutions in the power industry. Each of the memorandums operates independently and allows Unimot Energia i Gas to conduct parallel activities, tailored to the specifics of cooperation with each partner.
Operating as part of the Unimot Group, Unimot Energia i Gaz specialises in the sale of electricity and natural gas to companies and institutions. The company is also a Polish manufacturer of photovoltaic modules under the AVIA Solar brand, as well as a provider of state-of-the-art electrical protection solutions that support energy efficiency and security.
