UNIMOT Energia i Gaz debuts on the European Energy Exchanges EEX and EPEX SPOT

17.12.2025

On December 16, 2025, UNIMOT Energia i Gaz, a company of the UNIMOT Group, began operations on the European Energy Exchange (EEX) in the electricity and gas segments, as well as on the associated electricity exchange EPEX SPOT. With this move, the UNIMOT Group has joined the ranks of active participants on two key energy trading platforms in the region, strengthening its position as a reliable and flexible player in the European energy market.

The European Energy Exchange (EEX) is one of the largest and most reputable energy exchanges in Europe, enabling trading in futures contracts for electricity, natural gas, CO₂ emission allowances, and other energy products. Presence on EEX provides UNIMOT Energia i Gaz access to a broad, transparent market and allows for more efficient management of purchasing and sales portfolios. Meanwhile, EPEX SPOT is a European electricity exchange responsible for day-ahead and intraday markets, enabling rapid response to changing market conditions and real-time optimization of electricity purchase and sales costs.

The company’s debut on EEX and EPEX SPOT will significantly strengthen its purchasing independence and expand its capabilities to hedge electricity and gas prices, while also providing greater operational flexibility in wholesale markets. In addition, participation on both platforms will reinforce the company’s position in the European energy supply chain, allowing it to offer clients services based on the most current and transparent market prices, while providing a solid foundation for developing new products and further expanding cooperation with business partners in Poland and across European markets.

“Beginning operations on EEX and EPEX SPOT is an important milestone in the development of our company. I believe it will strengthen the position of the UNIMOT Group as an active and reliable participant in the European energy market. This represents real value for us and our partners, providing access to transparent market prices and the ability to quickly balance energy. At UNIMOT, we create products and services that meet the needs of clients in Poland and across Europe, continuously developing and improving them,” says Karol Ilba, President of the Management Board of UNIMOT Energia i Gaz.

The entry of UNIMOT Energia i Gaz onto the EEX and EPEX SPOT exchanges is part of the UNIMOT Group’s strategy, which includes the development of expertise in energy trading and the provision of advanced balancing services.
