Unimot Group, Poland's largest independent energy group, has announced the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement with a Lviv-based renewable energy sources (RES) company - EСO-OPTIMA. The joint initiative aims to develop green energy projects to support Ukraine's energy transition and independence. The information was announced on 17 October during a Polish-Ukrainian business breakfast held as part of the Kyiv Economic Forum. The event was organised by Unimot with the support of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine and the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH).
It is estimated that the cost of rebuilding Ukraine's energy infrastructure is between $2.35 billion and $2.58 billion. In addition, in its development plans, Ukraine has provided for investments of €200 million per year between 2023 and 2032 for modernisation and development of the electrical power system. In response to this scale of needs, Unimot's cooperation with EСO-OPTIMA is primarily focused on the development and implementation of projects for the construction of new generation capacity based on renewable energy sources, particularly solar power plants (SPPs) and energy storage systems (ESS). The companies are also planning to cooperate in the area of exploration and production of hydrocarbons, i.e. gas and oil. Important elements of the agreement also include the implementation of joint activities in the field of investment acquisition, mutual support in the promotion and implementation of projects, and the search for business partners necessary for the successful implementation of planned projects.
The meeting, which took place during the Kyiv Economic Forum, comprised Polish-Ukrainian economic and political dialogue. It included panel discussions on such topics as the importance of Polish-Ukrainian cooperation in the fields of energy and investment. The event was attended by representatives from the world of politics, public administration, business and regulatory institutions. The meeting also saw the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Kyiv Regional Military Administration and the Polish Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH), as well as a charity auction for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
- We believe in the future of Ukraine. We are not waiting for the end of the war to start investing – we are acting now. Polish-Ukrainian economic cooperation is the foundation of future reconstruction, and our experience and presence in the market are to provide actual support for Ukrainian partners,” says Adam Sikorski, President of the Management Board of UNIMOT S.A.
Unimot Group, which has been present on the Ukrainian market continuously since 2018, is active in two key areas: developing the AVIA fuel station network and wholesale fuel trading, both in terms of exports from Poland and sales on the Ukrainian market. Despite the ongoing war, Unimot has consistently strengthened its position in that market. Unimot Group's cooperation with a Ukrainian renewable energy company is a step towards developing projects that support Ukraine's energy independence, in line with the country's development and economic support strategy.
During the event, Unimot also presented the activities of PZL Defence, a company established in August 2025, with which the Unimot Group entered the defense sector. The company is currently conducting research and development works on UAV solutions and anti-drone systems, and will launch production and sales once the required licenses are obtained. The activities of Unimot Energia Ukraine, a company operating in the electricity market, which is resuming operations after a period of suspension caused by the outbreak of the war, were also presented.
